Summer Is Here....Finally! |

It's the season of Banana Cream Pies, Creamsicle Cakes and Chelsea Buns! Okay we know there's swimming and camping and all that outdoor stuff but summer is the time we're so grateful to see that warm sun that we even take our meals outside.
And what says summer more than a hunk of pie out on the porch after dinner? We have a new Country Kitchen Pie...cherries, rhubarb, raspberries & cranberries...it's a tad tart but the sugar lattice crust evens the score. And don't forget about our Muskoka Berry Pie...wild blueberries, blackberries, juicy strawberries & raspberries.
We've got some great breads too for filling up that picnic hamper. How about a roast turkey and cheddar sandwich on Cranberry Walnut Bread? Or cream cheese and cucumber on our wholegrain Pumpkin Raisin Bread? More...

And this Sunday we're celebrating the milestone with our Customer Anniversary Party. There will be free cake, free coffee & tea, cookie decorating lessons and live entertainment. It's our way of thanking our customers who have been so very supportive these past 23 years. We're also running an Anniversary Week Sale which is on now till Sunday. Well it hasn't been the worst of winters but a breath of spring air would sure be welcome nevertheless. Easter is around the corner too and believe it or not we've been doing our famous Hot Cross Buns everyday since New Years! This is also the time of year when all the new stuff we found at the gift and fashion shows starts to arrive...and we have plenty of new lines coming in shortly especially up at our Emporium store. Paczki Day Is Fast Approaching! |

Okay, it's the middle of winter...cold, snowy and dark even before you start to contemplate what to make for dinner. But there are a few fun things coming up soon that will brighten those wintery skies. First of all the Orillia Winter Carnival is set for the weekend of February 12th through the 14th. And with a massive ice castle, dog sled rides and the sight of dozens of brave souls actually jumping into the frigid waters of Couchiching through a hole cut in the ice what's not to love? Plus there's Valentines Day too on the Sunday so what better excuse to indulge yourself with chocolate...perhaps some chocolate dipped strawberries, a sinful Death By Chocolate cake from the bakery, or a scrumptious little cupcake? And it only gets better with the new Family Day Holiday falling on February 15th, the day after Valentines. And don't forget the next day...Tuesday February 16th is Shrove Tuesday, the official day to celebrate the Paczki-Poland's beloved addition to the world's pastries. What's a Paczki you ask? Think of it as the Cadillac of jelly filled donuts, only the pastry is made richer with eggs and the filling is a tart raspberry that complements the sugar crusted pastry perfectly. And believe it or not we won't shut off our oven till Christmas with three shifts of bakers running around the clock baking up everything from buttery shortbreads to chocolate yule log cakes to golden parkerhouse rolls.
